Inshore reefs offer boat anglers the opportunity for excellent mixed fishing and, depending on your geographical location, a huge variety of different species can be caught from even the smallest patch of rough ground, even in relatively shallow water. When targeting specific species you need to fine tune your tactics to suit those species, and in this article I am going to discuss the basic tactics for catching some of the larger reef species boat anglers encounter in the UK – ling and conger.
