ABANDONING SHIP

Some of us carry a life raft and of course hope that we will never have need to use it. For anglers, our boat usage is normally in relatively settled conditions and close to land meaning we are most likely to abandon ship in the case of fire or serious hull damage.

In times of stress or panic there is no substitute for previous hands-on experience or training on the deployment and use of the life raft and I had often considered participating in an RYA life raft course but never actually got around to it.
