My early fall activities this time around were numerous and interesting, with nary a coin show attendance sprinkled in, stretching from my return from the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) World’s Fair of Money in late August, to attendance at the 50th anniversary convention of the South Carolina Numismatic Association. While the variety ranged from docent duty at the Iola Historical Society (IHS) to volunteer duty at a horse riding event anchored on the Iola Car Show grounds, the activities were anything but devoid of numismatic and coin collecting considerations.
Having returned from the ANA, the fourth week of August started off with meeting a couple personal appointments, on Monday afternoon with my chiropractor and Tuesday morning at my dental clinic for my semi-annual orthodontist visit and checkup. By the end of the day on Wednesday, I’d managed to dispatch all pending incoming communications that had accumulated during my absence and fulfilled the commitments I’d dragged back from the convention.
