GRÜNER VELTLINER

93 Ingrid Groiss 2020 Ried Pankraz Reserve Grüner Veltliner (Niederösterreich). This is a bit tight now, but underneath there is a seductive wine, with a charming vanilla note and chalky minerality that frames the core of rich quince, ripe pear and baked pineapple. Firmly structured and long, this is made for cellaring, so give it a few years. Best 2025–2035. Circo Vino. —A.Z.

92 Ingrid Groiss 2020 Ried Sauberg Tradition Grüner Veltliner (Niederösterreich). This white features a beautiful, silky texture, combined with firm structure and strong minerality. Orchard and stone fruit flavors are mixed at the core, framed by chamomile tea hints. The finish is marked by a long smoked sea salt note. Vineyard Brands. —A.Z.
