JAMES M. SCOTT (“Night Terrors”) is a former Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, and the author most recently of from which our cover article is adapted. His previous books include 2018’s which was named one of the best booksand a 2016 Pulitzer Prize finalist in history. Other works include (2013) and (2009), which won the Rear Admiral Samuel Eliot Morison Award for Excellence in Naval Literature. He lives in Charleston, South Carolina, with his wife and two children.
