ALTHOUGH THERE ARE no major changes in the Photos app, lots of improvements make it better to use.
1 Eliminate duplicates
When Photos analyzes images in your library, it looks for duplicates with contents that appear identical. Any it finds are listed in a new section in its sidebar, so you can check them and accept its offer to merge them into one.
2 Display in HDR
If your Mac’s display supports high dynamic range (HDR), enable Photos’ Settings > General > View Full HDR so it will be automatically adjusted to show images in HDR.
