PUB TALK

PUB is an unashamed Monarchist (other views are available) - for various reasons including the avoidance of yet more ambitious, argumentative and short sighted politicians. So it is not surprising that the loss of The Queen as she was known world-wide should get a mention here. In fact PUB braved The Queue through the night to pay respects at the Lying in State. Managing to combine it with another London appointment unfortunately extended the footwork significantly, at considerable (temporary) cost to her ability to walk properly! She is too old to be trying tricks like that, but has no regrets.

More relevant to this column, was the discovery that the Queen could ride a motorbike! She learned during her time in the ATS, a time that it is hard to quantify but may only have lasted for some months (between 18 when she could join up, and the end of war in Europe).
