PUB TALK

At Christmastime our ‘esteemed leader’ (Boris) announced that there would be no new Covid regulations to interrupt Christmas gatherings and celebrations (hooray), but did not commit to the same following Boxing Day (boo). That left the New Year’s Day ‘Vintage Stony’ meeting still very vulnerable, and it is an event that PUB enjoys.

With last year’s event cancelled, and the VMCC Banbury Run similarly cancelled in both 2020 and 2021, the Léon Bollée had not been out since January 1st 2020, a whole two years in fact. Indeed, locked away in its ‘motor house’ (a term that generally preceded garage) it had barely been looked at to check it was O.K. (or even still there).

On one of those rare occasions all was not well, with evidence of interference or perhaps a leaking roof. In fact it transpired that some small animal had gained entry, but a repeat was prevented by blocking up the hole it had opened up. Nevertheless the vehicle really needed some exercise, but of course PUB had not got around to it
