UK disaster is a wake-up call

The UK’s disastrous September mini-budget is a wake-up call for Australia’s economic leaders about the dangers of out-of-control debt.

The crisis was sparked by what has been labelled a reckless mini-budget full of unfunded spending promises delivered by the new Chancellor of the Exchequer, Kwasi Kwarteng. (Australia’s treasurer was due to announce our own mini-budget on October 25, after Money went to print.)
