Enjoyment at the Pioneer Run

The blue sky was framed by the occasional fluffy white cloud, the warm autumnal air was filled with the tweeting of small birds – the perfect day for veteran motorcycling…

Sadly, that was Saturday, October 1, 2022, with the following day being the day of the run, and a completely different matter.

My back-up team (wife and 11-year-old boy) and I woke up at 5am and looked at the rain lashing down and seriously questioned the project in hand… We did eventually get to Epsom by 7am and by a miracle the magneto internals were still dry.
