IF YOU HAVE ONLY ONE DATE WITH Australia’s Red Heart, swipe right for the introduction that embraces the Alice Springs art buzz, spectacular hikes and sleepovers in painterly settings.
The Red Centre Way is a scenic alternative route from Mparntwe (Alice Springs) to Watarrka (Kings Canyon) and Uluru (Ayers Rock) via the West MacDonnell Ranges. Its pitstops include landmarks such as Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm, Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen Gorge.
Also known as the Mereenie Loop, the Red Centre Way is one of many roads in Central Australia that traverse Aboriginal-owned lands and offer a taste of First Nations culture.
Art in Alice Springs is the primer.
