Watermelon Sugar

T WAS MELON SEASON in Jerusalem, and I wanted to make the most of our sunny terrace to create a painting giving a sense of the luxuriousness of fresh watermelon on a hot day. I felt white wine was the perfect foil to evoke the deliciousness of a languid afternoon. I included the edge of the chair to give a sense of inviting the viewer to step inside and sit down. I aim to keep my paintings loose but accurate, with a certain liveliness
