How real is reality television? It’s the big question for many viewers. In my opinion, if it is on the television, it has to have happened. There are so many cameras everywhere that are catching the things the judges don’t always see at the time. From my perspective, it was 100 percent real.

There was never, ever an occasion when I would say my integrity was questioned. I recall the competition clock stopping just twice in the five years that I was involved. The control room is questioning whether the contestants are going to finish in time. We let them decide: we can stop the clock for 10 minutes, but only if both agree.
