LC: Your background is in design, and from that vantage, designing the audience experience means evolving: allowing drinks in the hall, raising the lights a bit, reducing the running time to allow for dinner reservations…

Exactly. Walking into a Broadway or Cirque du Soleil show versus a concert hall—there’s always something happening before the show starts. Visually interesting things, performers in costume to pose for pictures, answer questions. On concert tours we’ve had trailers and video content in the lobby with which the audience can interact.
