This superb MGA Twin-Cam came into David’s life in 1998 when he purchased it from its last owner who was based in the West Country. By coincidence, David shares his birthday with this curved beauty but that’s not the reason he decided on this particular MG to add to his collection. He also likes a fast MG, as we’ve seen in previous issues of MGE. “I wanted one in Iris Blue with a twin-cam. I kept looking until I found one. I found it via one of the clubs.”
But where does this MGA Twin-Cam fit within his six-MG stable, which includes an SV-R and a Supercharged MG TF. “I think the MGA is the prettiest MG ever made.” This isn’t David’s first MGA though. “I had a Coupé when I was 17. By now I suspect it’s a pile of rust somewhere. About the bottom 6” was fibreglass. I eventually exchanged it for a Land Rover.”
Prior to its West Country sojourn this MGA Twin-Cam had quite a lengthy list of owners, being first registered to a Mr George Wivell, of Cumbria, in 1959. It then passed onto William Jenkinson, who passed it
