When the collapse of MG Rover occurred in 2004, it was fair to assume that the product lineup, comprising the MG ZR, ZS and ZT saloons and hatchbacks, together with their Rover siblings, and the MG TF were being consigned to history. That assumption was largely correct, but one model, the TF refused to lie down and die.
The story of how the UK’s MG Rover became today’s thriving Chinese-owned MG brand is well documented, but relevant to the return of the TF is that the ownership of the MG name passedgiven a surprisingly warm reception by the motoring press.
