Much as we all love MGs, even the most ardent enthusiast would struggle to convince themselves that the cars built in the last decade are anything more than ‘good for the money’.
Even models such as the 5, ZS and HS are respectable and competitive, but they certainly aren’t as sporting or interestingly styled as the average MG fans would like them to be.
The new 4, we are told, is where the tide turns. It’s the first stage of the future of the brand, starting with this sharp-looking hatchback. It promises to have both the bargain price and the talent to be taken seriously.
There’s more to it than striking looks and a keen price though. The 4 is‘architecture’ which will be scaled up and down to create the next generation of cars, ranging from a superminis to SUVs. Keep your fingers crossed and the range will also include the promised Cyberster two-seater sportscar too.
