THUMBS UP!
► Id like to congratulate the team behind the brilliant CM publication Demystifying Vehicle Diagnostics. I have a basic understanding of cars purely on a DIY basis and carry out the majority of servicing and repairs on all our family cars, but diagnostics was something I let my basic code reader take care of, if it didn’t tell me what the problem was, I then had to leave it to the professionals.
However, after reading the above publication many times over, I feel “educated” in the basics of how a modern engine is fuelled and monitored. I can only put it down to the way it was explained in the magazine, ie. at a level I could understand, rather than page after page of technical waffle and diagrams, it goes back to basics and describes the principles in a basic easy to understand manner.
My new found knowledge (well a bit more than before) has paid dividends on our track car project where we have upgraded the engine and encountered a few technical issues, and although we haven’t ironed them all out yet, thanks to the CM publication we now know the basics and use that knowledge to make conclusions on where the problem lies, not as much through measuring instruments (yet) but knowing how to use a multimeter and a grasp of the fundamentals has helped us pinpoint a couple of issues that would have had
