WALL HANGING RAM’S HEAD

Gather together some images of your chosen animal head that display the creature from several angles.

Stick the images into your sketch book for reference when making, or do some drawings from them if that will help you understand the anatomy better.

Begin by forming a ball of clay, large enough to fill the palm of your hand but sit in it comfortably.

Press your thumb down into the centre of the ball until you can feel some pressure in your palm.

With your thumb still inside the ball, turn the shape upside down and pinch the base end of the form first. We do this because this area will become much more difficult to reach as
