While the fashion accessory market is full of single designs duplicated into hundreds of pieces, Kaggwa’s unique, handmade accessories cater for a customer’s personal taste.
Sometime in 2013, Kaggwa (age 30) was sitting at her office desk in an investment bank when two ladies selling pieces of beautiful jewellery approached. She had two options – buy their wares or politely decline their overtures. She bought some but looked beyond the items.
“The ladies were hawking pieces with a similar design and as much as they were attractive to me, I thought to myself hundreds of other women in the streets were wearing the ‘same’ thing.”
