Falling into PLACE

Yvonne Garza has rarely met a discarded furniture piece she didn’t like. Where others see rubbish, she sees possibility. From chipped wood chairs and corner cupboards to distressed cabinets and benches, these are the staples of the design aesthetic she has integrated into the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, home she shares with her husband, Ross; daughter, Lauren; and son, Ross Jr. “When I got married 29 years ago, decorating was not what it is today,” she notes. “I started out getting little things at flea markets and antiques shops.” As Yvonne’s collections grew, she soon realized that furniture was her thing.
