I ALWAYS enjoy reading the old show reports from yesteryear, especially those that refer to the British, mules & hybrids. In the September 14 Cage & Aviary Birds there's a summary of the 1922 London National. I think I would have taken the third-placed linnet. “Bold, shapely, full of work, sound rich colour all through, wealth of pencilling, fine condition” – that sounds like my kind of bird.
