T he warmer spring months bring many delights— not the least of which is the unofficial opening of yard-sale season. The adrenaline rush of finding one-ofa-kind treasures in the midst of the ordinary is a thrill that’s special to this time of year. The enjoyment ramps up even more as you consider how to reinvent your new purchases and implement them into a seasonal decorating scheme.

Country Sampler stylist René Haines did just that, rummaging through bins and tables and booths until inspiration struck. “If we’re spending more time outside and in the garden, we still want to make our spaces pretty,” René says. “Any season, to me, lends itself well to repurposing things. Gardening just gives you a new theme to think about.”
