IT HAS been six years in the planning and making – now, Britain’s latest all new heritage railway has opened.
On May 27, the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Toby Dennis, unveiled a plaque to formally open the Ropsley Heath Light Railway before driving Nimrod, the line’s first steam locomotive, through a ribbon in front of a party of invited guests, including Heywood Society members.
From his childhoodto the five-acre Glebe Farm, outside the nearby village of Ropsley.
