There’s no easy way to hear that a best friend has died, but it must have been a hell of a lot harder for Clive’s wife, Debs, to make that call and say those words to me. I can’t begin to imagine.
For over a decade Clive White from Rapier Paint had been a huge part of my life. Be it on a road test, messing around with a project or just chatting about anything and everything, he was that go-to guy for me… a proper mate who would give you the time in the day. A proper happy bloke, ridiculously talented and undoubtedly one of the most decent people I’d ever met.
A week before he passed we’d sat down and watched the Brands Hatch BSB finale, knowing that his time was up, but shouting at the telly, like every race fan does. Nearly a year on he’s still in my thoughts and as you’ll know he was a key part of this project. Okay, let’s rewind.
