BATTLE OF GORGOPOTAMOS

Codenamed Operation Harling, Gorgopotamos was a British Special Forces mission in occupied Greece in conjunction with Greek resistance groups. Masterminded by the Special Operations Executive, Harling aimed to destroy the strategically important Gorgopotamos railway viaduct that connected Athens to Thessaloniki.
