Apple and blackberry crumble

YOU WILL NEED

✔ 500g cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced ✔ 75g caster sugar ✔ 3 tbsp water ✔ 200g Doves Farm Organic Plain White Flour ✔ 150g demerara sugar ✔ 150g butter, cubed ✔ 25g oats ✔ 100g blackberries

DIRECTIONS

■ Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/Fan 160°C/Gas Mark 4.

■ Place the apples into a 1L oven dish. Mix the caster sugar and water, then add the solution to the apples. Bake the apples and sugar mix for 20 minutes.

■ Pour the flour and demerara sugar into a mixing bowl.

■ Add the butter to the bowl and use a fork to roughly mix the flour, sugar and butter together. When lumpy breadcrumbs form, stir in the oats.

■ Carefully remove the apples from the oven and stir in the blackberries.

■ Pour the flour mixture over the fruit and use a fork or spoon to spread it out so that it reaches the edges.

■ Return the crumble to the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes.
