It’s that time of year again. The nights are drawing in, and winter is upon us once again. For the majority of owners, Lambretta or Vespa, that means putting your machine away for a few months of hibernation, but rather than simply shoving it in the shed this year spend a little time preparing it for hibernation. There aren’t many things to do, but the points highlighted will stop unnecessary problems from occurring. It doesn’t really matter how long it’s off the road; whether it’s six months or just a couple, the same principles should be applied.
Where it’s being stored
Before you start with vehicle maintenance, the first thing to look at is where you are going to store it. Will it be in a wooden shed at the bottom of the garden or perhaps underneath a tarpaulin on the patio (not recommended) or in the garage?
