Time in a distributor

Recently, we’ve swapped out an ancient canister-type oil filter for a nice new spinon one and fitted a cam into a rebuilt Crossflow. However, we have no means of distributing the spark. In fact, we have a small round hole where the distributor used to be.

So that’s what we’re about to do next — slot a mechanical advance distributor back into the block and, best of all, static time it so we stand a good chance of the engine firing first time.
