I thought I was done with carburettor testing for a bit, that was until I had an engine turn up for rebuild sporting an original pair of 44 IDFs.The engine was still complete and was exactly as removed from the car, so it made sense to dyno it to get a pre-rebuild baseline power figure. Once run up on the dyno I couldn’t resist trying my both my 40 and 45 DCOEs on it for a back-toback test.

This particular Pinto had an unknown but believed standard bottom end, a head which had been modified but looked very mediocre, a Burton BF40/41 cam and the aforementioned IDFs. I
