From the tragic loss of Dame Olivia Newton-John in August and the brave documentary Julia Bradbury made about her cancer battle, to stars like Samantha Womack and Sarah Cawood revealing their own diagnoses, it feels as though the disease hasn’t been far from the headlines.

And with breast-cancer rates rising in, adding, ‘You have to let people deal with it how they want to deal with it. Initially, when I was diagnosed, I was embarrassed. I don’t know why.’
