They typically include details such as the street and parish of the property, its value, the name of the property owner, and who they inherited it from. The records are divided into four difficulty levels – ‘Easy: Identify Places’, ‘Intermediate: Transcribe’, ‘Challenge: Identify People’ and ‘Bonus: Long Documents’. There are detailed instructions, and you can discuss your progress with other volunteers online. The transcriptions will eventually be added to the ‘Medieval Londoners’ database.
