Renewable energy targets

In 2015 the Queensland Government announced that it would start a renewable energy boom, which would reduce emissions, create new jobs and diversify the economy by establishing a target of 50 per cent renewable energy by 2050. As of June 2022, a 21.4 per cent renewable target has been reached.
