Rescue me

If you’d spent the majority of your working life fighting fires, you’d be forgiven for looking forward to a little bit of downtime. Unless, that is, your name is Joe McRae and you live in Utah, USA. Joe retired from firefighting and went straight into starting up Rustology Garage, a restoration business born of his love of old Volkswagens. You could say he jumped out of the fire and straight into the frying pan.

After a life dedicated to saving humans from fires and cats from trees, it was time to save some classic Volkswagens from rust and neglect. An altogether less dangerous affair, you might think, but one that should probably carry some sort of public health warning all the same!

Joe: “I’ve always loved Volkswagens, and had wanted a Bus for a long time. After surviving a significant cardiac event, I decided not to wait any longer.”
