On the day HELLO! catches up with Debbie McGee, she has spent several hours going through the extensive magic collection that belonged to her husband Paul Daniels.
It is a treasure trove of paraphernalia. There are ornate clocks and antique magic books, several hundred packs of cards, almost 400 posters and countless costumes and props from Paul’s TV shows, which regularly pulled in 15 million viewers during the 1980s and 1990s, when Debbie worked as his assistant.
Next month, more than 600 of these precious items will be going up for auction for other people to buy and enjoy.
