    ou don’t need advanced sewing skills to craft these candy ornaments from Damjana Jakos of AppleGreen Cottage—she even offers a free template on her blog! For both shapes, start with a piece of fabric that is twice the size of the pattern. Use an iron to adhere fusible polyester fleece to the back of the fabric. Fold the fabric in half, wrong sides together. Using a disappearing ink marking pen, trace the template once on the right side of the fabric. Sew the layers together with a straight stitch exactly on the line. Cut around the sewn ornament with pinking shears, about ⅛″ from the stitched line. To make hangers and add details, sew rickrack trim or colored string onto each ornament.
