Translate selected text on web pages

Chrome 106, which was released on 27 September, doesn’t introduce any notable new features – though we have heard some exciting things about version 107. However, it does add a hidden ‘experiment’ that gives you the useful ability to translate selected text on web pages. Currently, the browser lets you translate an entire page into English – or your preferred language – but with the new option you can translate specific sections of foreign text. Simply highlight the relevant passage, then right-click it and choose ‘Translate to English’ (see screenshot below).

To activate the experiment, type chrome:flags into the browser’s address bar then press Enter. Find the entry Desktop Partial Translate, select Enabled in
