Gather your supplies

• 30 x 30cm cardstock in gold, antique gold and/or white

• Cricut Foil Transfer Kit (includes transfer tool and foil), optional

For you to note

For white cardstock angel with gold foil feathers on wings, refer to Angel Wings instructions (see page 168).

Here’s how

STEP 1 Before you start, refer to General instructions and supplies list (above right). Search BHGChristmas22 for angel templates at design.cricut.com. If desired, resize templates. Follow prompts to score then cut angel body and wings, including a mirrored set of wings.

STEP 2 Press along score lines to create tabs. Bring cardstock around to form angel’s cone-shaped body and use double-sided tape to stick tabs inside body.

STEP 3 Assemble angel wing layers with mounting squares. Hot-glue wings to back of angel body in 2 spots to secure in place.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS PAPER PROJECTS

Gather your supplies

• 30 x 30cm cardstock, plain and patterned in desired colours

• Cricut Maker or Explore Air cutting machine

• Cricut Fine Blade (for angels, wings, snowflakes, baubles, magnolias, advent calendar dates, poinsettias)

• Cricut scoring wheel or stylus (for angels, snowflakes, magnolias, poinsettias)

• Cricut LightGrip (blue) Machine Mat (for angels, wings, snowflakes, baubles, magnolias, advent calendar dates, poinsettias)

• Cricut StandardGrip (green) Machine Mat (for leather advent calendar and heavier cardstock, vinyl and textured papers)

You’ll also need

Fabric and paper scissors; craft knife; tacky glue; high-tack 3mm-wide and 6mm wide double-sided adhesive tape; hot-glue gun and sticks; double sided foam mounting dots, squares or strips (both non-permanent and permanent)

For you to note

Read the instructions for your desired project and refer to the General supplies list (left) for any materials and tools required for the project. Extra project-specific supplies will be noted with the individual projects.

NOTE The paper baubles (see page 169) can also be cut using a paper trimmer and a medium size circle punch. You’ll also need a scoring stylus.

Before you start

• For speed, ease of use and neat, accurate cuts, selected projects were cut using the Cricut Maker or Explore Air cutting machine.

• The templates for selected cardstock, iron on vinyl and faux leather projects can be found at design.cricut.com.

• If you are new to using Cricut cutting machines, first download the Cricut Design Space app onto your desktop, tablet or mobile and sign up. Then open the app and enter BHGChristmas22 in the search bar. You will then be able to access the templates for your desired project. Click on a template to choose it.

• If you want to alter or resize the project, click ‘Customise’, then use the tools in the Edit panel to make changes. Once you’ve edited the template, click ‘Make It’. When you click on ‘Make It’, you will also have the option to duplicate your design and, once entered, click ‘Apply’.

• Insert your scoring wheel or fine blade when prompted. Score lines are done first, then the cuts.

• Place paper, card, leather/vinyl or foil onto required Cricut cutting mat, load
