PENNYWISE: THE STORY OF IT 15

OUT NOW DIGITAL 24 OCTOBER DVD, BD

This documentary on (1990) boasts gold-dust on-set footage and rounds up most of the players as talking heads (including director Tommy Lee Wallace and, of course, Pennywise himself, Tim Curry). Running 126 minutes, its chronological coverage can plod - the casting section feels longer than the doorstop novel, with so many actors to get through due to the narrative’s twin-timeline structure. But it’s a joy to see key scenes anatomised and the series’ flaws (spider!), as well as qualities, discussed.
