Hair might technically be dead, but it’s rife with emotion. Bad hair days are real – scientists have confirmed our moods are linked to the state of our strands – and, if you’ve ever had a horrid haircut, you’ll recall the heartache that ensued. But none of that compares to seeing clumps of hair in the shower drain. “Thinning hair is not just physical, it takes its toll on how my clients feel about themselves,” says Ali Holmes, co-owner of Wildlife Hair Sogo, and KMS lead stylist. “It’s a sensitive and at times embarrassing condition.” Thankfully, it’s not necessarily permanent.
