My first rugby memories aren’t going to games with Dad, or being around him when he was training, it’s the smell.
The liniment. The stink of rugby boots mixed in with dirt and sweat. When I am getting nostalgic thinking about rugby, that’s what I think of.
My first after school activity was ballet. But the following year, the boys at school were playing rugby, one of their dads was the coach and they knew I was pretty fast, so they asked me to play.
