‘I miss the English countryside and I miss old churches and church bells ringing’

For the past 20 years, Tilly Bagshawe has been regularly criss-crossing the Atlantic, flying from the home she shares in Los Angeles with her American financier husband Robin Nydes and their three children to her native UK – a place she misses desperately.“I long for home. I miss my parents, I miss the English countryside and I miss old churches and church bells ringing,” she says, with real yearning.

Now the best-selling author, 49, is finally putting down roots at River Cottage, a picture-postcard house in an idyllic village in the Cotswolds – and the setting for our exclusive shoot with Tilly, Robin, 65, and Zac, 17, Theo, 15, and Summer, 11.
