Usually it is his wife’s outfits that generate all the interest, but on their recent trip to Forfar in Angus, if anyone accused the Earl of Wessex of stealing the Countess’s fashion thunder, he would have to plead kilty as charged. The couple, granted the titles Earl and Countess of Forfar by the Queen in 2019, had travelled for a service of thanksgiving for the life of the monarch at Lowson Memorial church.Dressed in Earl of Forfar tartan (right), Edward joined the congregation in singing the praises of his mother. He and the Countess (left, in a Max Mara coat and a new wavy hairstyle), chatted to community ambassadors and volunteers who were part of Operation Unicorn, the mourning arrangements in Scotland following the Queen’s death at Balmoral in September.
