BLOODY KIDS!

ANDREW HINDERAKER remembers the day that Let The Right One In entered his life. A long-time fan of the 2008 Swedish horror film, he was at a meeting at Tomorrow Studios (Cowboy Bebop, Snowpiercer) for another project when they mentioned, almost in passing, that they had the rights to John Ajvide Lindqvist’s cult novel.

“As politely as possible,” Hinderaker tells SFX, “I told them, ‘I’m really not going to hear anything else you say in this meeting!’”

When news, it was met with plenty of raised eyebrows. TV shows based on critically adored films can go either two ways: they can be a or a . Any production company with a precious IP can rattle off a series, but it’s the care with which they treat that brand that matters. And when Tomorrow met with Hinderaker they chanced upon a writer with a deep love of the original, someone who wanted to do that 2008 movie proud.
