harpening is one of the less exciting aspects of image processing, but it can help your images stand out. It’s something that’s required as a result of how digital images are created. It can be done in-camera for JPEGs but, as ever, the best results are achieved when a bespoke treatment is applied – ideally to raw files, as they have more data. Strictly speaking, it’s best to apply sharpening at different stages of the editing process.
