STYLISH SCOOTERS Find out what’s all the rage on page 122.
Season for sightings
Head to Rocky Mountain National Park on October 1 and 2. During rutting season, wild elk are often spotted in town and around the park. “Elk Fest is a great family-friendly event,” says Visit Estes Park Deputy Director Rebecca Domenico-Gelsinger. “It takes place in Bond Park, which is in the heart of downtown Estes Park. There’s Native American storytelling, music, dancing, food trucks, wildlife education, elk bugling contests and vendors. It’s become a favorite event for the locals and visitors alike, and is a fantastic way to enjoy Fall in Estes Park.” If you missed the festival, don’t worry because all of October is a great time to spot elk in the park on your own. When viewing wildlife, it is important to keep in mind your safety. Males (bulls) can be especially aggressive if protecting their female (cow) so make sure to keep your distance. “We social distance six feet from one another, but wildlife needs 75 feet of space.” For more information, visit
