Carol Sharp began her life as a professional photographer soon after graduating from Brighton Art College with a first-class degree in visual communication.
Since then, her plant photography has been widely published, including Chelsea Flower Show posters, two sets of Royal Mail stamps and the book series From Bud to Seed.
Carol’s work has been shown in solo and group exhibition across the UK as well as in Barcelona and New York, and most recently at London’s Coningsby Gallery.
She is a winner of the Association of Photographer Awards, Julia Margaret Cameron Awards and the Pollux Awards.
Carol is passionate about the importance of plants for people’s health and the planet, and donates a percentage of her income to support education, conservation and awareness of plants and encouraging connection to nature.

Sometimes, the location of our upbringing provides a symbolic direction to our future path in life. For the fine art and plant photographer Carol Sharp, her roots were laid in Welwyn Garden City, where she lived with her family and a large hundred-year-old oak tree that towered above their back garden. “I used to look at it from my window, which probably made quite a deep impression on me, but I didn’t realize at the time,” she recalls. “Now, I often think back, and that tree is still there at the house I grew up in and I love to go and see it. It offers a sense of permanence.”

Today, Carol’s home includes three and a half acres of land in rural Norfolk where she has her own woodland and wildflower meadows, providing daily inspiration for the intimate plant and
