HAT a summer that was. Extreme heat and drought were officially declared in some regions. Some birdrooms were left to overheat and sadly some birds suffered. It has not been a pleasurable time if you’re a birdkeeper. I’ve often been in the birdroom doing routine tasks, only to come out drenched in sweat. I am fortunate that my birdroom has two large blackout blinds and has been built within a brick garage building. That keeps it as cool as can be.
