Deer & Deer Hunting

TO PEE OR NOT TO PEE?

All deer hunters know some of our brethren who are, shall we say, completely and fanatically obsessed with scent control. They spend hours and hard-earned dollars keeping their human odor to a minimum. They ritualistically trim excess body hair, bathe with scent-free soap and shampoo, store their hunting clothing and equipment in scentfree containers, and make ample use of scent-killing chemical sprays. They unequivocally believe all of this is necessary to reduce their odor footprint while hunting.

And while hunting for hours, or even all day, they have the all-too-familiar urge to urinate. Failure to heed the call of Mother Nature not only makes you uncomfortable, but could potentially divert attention and focus away from hunting. Sometimes you just have to go, but how – and more importantly, where – you go, that’s the question.

“I am 100% against urinating on the ground under any). “I hunt smart, mature bucks in heavily pressured areas where every detail matters to possibly gain an encounter with one.”
