It’s one of the most heart-warming occasions of the year – a ceremony celebrating extraordinary children and youngsters battling complex medical issues and the network of people who go the extra mile to care for them.
This year, the WellChild Awards, in media partnership with HELLO!, were more poignant than ever after the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic over the last two years.
Watched by a crowd of 250 guests – including the inspirational children and their families, nurses, doctors and carers, as well as stars including Chris Robshaw, Sabrina Elba and Janet Ellis – sopranos Camilla Kerslake and Natalie Rushdie took to the stage at the Hurlingham Club in London before the winners were honoured.
